Urban dictionary defines the word inspirado as “The creative juices which allows a normal human being to create music, poems, stories, etc.” Right now it’s just past midnight and I can’t for the life of me get to sleep. I keep tossing and turning in bed. My mind keeps wandering, thinking of how I would solve this problem, or coming up with a really cool poster idea, trying to remember a certain font, or what would be fun to write about next in my blog…Normally I fall right to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, but tonight the inspirado is flowing.

It’s times like these when I seem to have all the answers, when a design problem doesn’t seem so intimidating. I can step back, and look at something from a different perspective. Answers to a problem come quickly and easily, sometimes I can come up with multiple solutions. It’s a designers answer to prayer - almost surreal - having seemingly good ideas flowing out of ones mind like a waterfall. Inspirado is like being “in the zone,” no matter what you do it just seems to work. Time kinda stands still and every shot you make just seems to go in. So instead of letting this all pass, and forgetting everything in the morning I have decided to write it down here.

Err…with all that being said, maybe it was the two coffees I had throughout the course of my day, instead of the single cup I normally take. A placebo effect if you will, just a cheap caffeine rush that’s coming to an end. Now I see the light, and I think I’m ready to crash - goodnight.
